Sacral touch I

Body Brus h Series. In Tacto Sacro, a tactile object, wool ceases to be a utilitarian material and takes on an auratic quality. Historically associated with protection, shelter and domesticity, here it is recontextualised and reinterpreted as a vehicle for contemplation and care, due to its ability to activate a profound sensory experience. The sculpture takes the form of an oversized body brush. The golden metal handle refers to the tradition of ceremonial utensils and the codes of classical ornamentation; the raw fibre, on the other hand, remains undyed, preserving the purity and organic memory of the fleece. This material tension—between the cold shine of metal and the porous warmth of wool—creates a dialogue between the sumptuous and the ancestral. The wool is presented in its most essential state: long, carded, almost intact fibre. Its generous volume invites contact. The gesture of brushing the skin with this brush becomes an intimate ritual, a minimal choreography where the body is simultaneously a support and a sacred territory. Luxury, in this operation, is not measured in visual ostentation, but in the slowness of the gesture and the density of touch. In a cultural context dominated by visual hyperstimulation, Tacto Sacro I asserts the primacy of touch. The piece proposes an economy of softness: a practice where the tactile experience is elevated to the status of a sacred act. Thus, the work not only revalues a material historically underestimated in contemporary luxury circles, but also redefines the very concept of luxury as access to a full sensory experience. Wool, in its almost liturgical whiteness, becomes an offering and a tool: an instrument for slowing down, for feeling, for remembering that touch can be a form of reverence.
