Contexto

Like a newly discovered organism, this textile figure seems to pulse faintly against the white background that embraces it. Its folds of earth tones—ochres, browns, and terracotta—intertwine like mountains eroded by centuries of wind. Between them, threads of creamy white meander, evoking rivers seeking their course or roots clinging to an inner territory. The wrinkled, almost organic texture recalls ancient bark or biological tissues magnified under a microscope. There is a poetic tension between rough and soft, between wild irregularity and the precision of the coiling curves. On the left, the form expands like a shy dawn; on the right, it curls forcefully, as if a burning impulse—the color of fire—were trying to break free from the rest. The work, suspended in the stillness of the void, raises the question of whether it is in the process of dissolving or being born. Its presence is a reminder that beauty can emerge from fragmentation and that, even in the chaos of folds, a secret language awaits to be deciphered. The artist explores the tension between matter and movement through folds that seem to breathe, expand, and contract. The chromatic variations—from earthy ochres to serpentine white—evoke layers of memory: skin, landscape, roots. Here, the textile abandons its functional purpose to transform into an expressive body. The work becomes an intimate map where each wrinkle and undulation records an experience, a movement, a gesture held within the fiber. In dialogue with the emptiness of the background, this piece unfolds an ambiguous presence: is it fragment or whole? Archaeological remnant or the seed of an organism yet to be born? The work invites us to approach, to read its layers as if they were chapters of a story still being written.
