Regina Dejiménez's
White Gold project

An immersive and interactive installation has been created using Wooldreamers Spanish wool and iron as base material.

This space consists of: three large self-supporting sculptures, the design of the exhibition furniture and a series of three sound devices, in which to listen to interviews with various professionals involved with the study material: the White Gold of Spain.

Regina defines this space as Artisan Sensorial Architecture, thus offering a declaration of intentions in relation to her work and the research between disciplines that she carries out in her studio: multidisciplinary art, design and textile craftsmanship.

Out of scale volumes, soft organic textures in contrast to the sharp iron furniture frame the objects designed by Inés Sistiaga turning the space into a dynamic sensorial and narrative experience, inviting the viewer to explore new emotional and conceptual landscapes, thus expanding the horizons of contemplation and opening the way to interaction.

Regina’s soft, brutalist-style architectural vision transports us to an expanded reality, a possible interior, an imaginary place. In contrast, the designed furniture reminds us of the decadence of the forgotten Spain, the memory of the labours of the countryside and the crisis that this provokes, a problem that involves cultural, social and contemporary environmental policies.

The creative possibilities of wool in space are taken here to their maximum potential by being able to perceive the fusion of the different states of the fibre and the different formats with which it can be worked with in the same work.

This space offers the coexistence of the different planes of reality that this material entails: from fantasy and the sensation of warmth, to the direct experience of people who expose the social and human reality, together with the final products that challenge the consumer to the Spanish textile industry.

In this installation, Regina evolves the applications of her work as a way of human development and inspiration for future generations.
