Contexto

The work consists of a vertical textile sculpture. It is composed of multiple tubular elements covered with raw cotton fabric that twist and intertwine. These elements form an open structure with several interior voids visible from different angles. The textile components exhibit variations in thickness and fold tension, creating an irregular relief throughout the piece. In the central and upper areas, elongated lines predominate, oriented upwards in curved and diverging directions. Some of these extensions rise higher, ending in rounded or gently tapered shapes. Towards the base, the tubes curve and group into wider loops, resting stably on the display platform. The structure generates a dynamic and asymmetrical silhouette, without a clearly defined axis of symmetry. The negative space between the tubular elements adds depth and allows light to cast sharp shadows on the white background. The exhibition context is minimalist: a plain, neutral-toned background and soft lighting that highlights the volume and relief of the fabric. No additional colors or materials other than the textile and the supporting base are visible. This textile sculpture appears suspended in perpetual motion. Its ascending, intertwined lines behave like bodies seeking each other, supporting and pushing one another in an invisible rhythm. There is no fixed center: the form unfolds in multiple directions, creating a choreography that is constructed in and through space. The soft, malleable material coils upon itself, forming twists, knots, and curves that evoke taut muscles or vines climbing in search of light. The work emerges from the base like an organic growth, yet without relinquishing the sophistication of a choreographic gesture: a silent, yet vibrant dance. In Danza (Dance), the artist allows the fiber to cease being a support and become movement itself. The repeated gestures of wrapping, twisting, and stretching give shape to a piece that is both structure and impulse. The ends elongate upwards, like arms reaching for the air, while the lower loops anchor the sculpture to the earth, reminding us that to rise, one must also find support. The cream-toned monochrome enhances the perception of the relief, inviting the viewer to explore the surface with their eyes and almost with their touch. The work is contained dance, a choreographic instant suspended in mid-expansion: a body made of other bodies that intertwine to maintain balance. Here, dance is not representation, it is form. It is the memory of gesture transformed into an object. It is the surface that recalls how the body moves when it yearns to be alive.
